Here is the criteria we use to be considered for our Professional Slide Guitar Players list!

Please understand that to keep this list concise and valid, we want to list PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS ONLY here. While we want to be inclusive, there are no guarantees. Submissions that meet the following criteria will be considered.

1) This list is for artists who have
a significant FOCUS ON SLIDE GUITAR. The use of a slide on a track here and there will not qualify. Sorry. We are not out to list every guitar player that owns a slide and uses it once in a while. The artist's promotional materials MUST mention slide guitar as a substantial aspect of their repertoire and performance.

2) This list is for slide guitar artists who regularly play PAID gigs AND/OR produce professional-level recordings of slide guitar music. Casual amateurs and YouTube/Facebook performers are welcome to post their videos to our
Facebook group or submit your YouTube clips for inclusion in our Video page.

3) The artist MUST have a website using their own domain that includes their bio, gig schedule, and music examples. A press kit page on their site is the gold standard here. A booking agent is a good sign. While there may be some slight leeeway, Facebook "home pages" generally do not count. We want to reward serious musicians who are making the correct professional commitments to their craft and the promoters who book them. A Facebook page does not do that.

4) The submission should include EXAMPLE links to downloadable or streamable music. Spotify/iTunes/YouTube. By and large, the recordings should be professionally produced above a "phone recording" level.

5) Fans of an artist can submit on the artist's behalf. We will require an EMAIL ADDRESS or CONTACT PAGE on their website so that we can contact the artist, get their approval to post their listing, and otherwise, correspond as needed. Participating artists can expect to be occasionally featured in our newsletter and on this website.
Email addresses will NEVER be posted on this website!

6) A valid link to a publicity photo of some kind is required. Professionals usually have these in their publicity kits on their websites. Amateurs usually do not.

7) We will accept appeals if an artist is denied on the initial review. Appeals will be based upon substantial proof of playing slide guitar professionally, touring, recording, or lesson material development. Make your case.
